About the Future Care Pooled Trust
The Future Care Community Pooled Trust serves the upstate New York area (Monroe and surrounding counties).
The trust provides a convenient and economical way to have funds administered for people with disabilities. The use of funds from the trust will supplement, but not supplant government benefits and enhance the quality of life for beneficiaries.
Our co-trustees are the Al Sigl Community of Agencies and KeyBank.
The money of beneficiaries is pooled to take advantage of better investment opportunities however a separate sub-trust account is kept for each beneficiary.
Future Care offers the following trust types:
Pooled First Party Lump Sum: Funded with resources of the person with a disability to enhance their quality of life. Examples include: A direct inheritance, settlement proceeds, a retroactive Social Security benefit payment, or savings.
Pooled First Party Medicaid Spendown: Funded with monthly income. Spenddown for Medicaid qualification.
Pooled Third Party Lump Sum: Funded by a family member, friend, or other interested party. The Third Party trust is a tool families can use to provide for future needs of their loved one with disability while also preserving their loved ones public benefits. Money can be placed during life, or by will, estate plan, life insurance policy and retirement funds.
